Camping at Big Sur coast, Central California

On the way to becoming a family tradition, we made our summer trip to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park again on Aug 26-28 for the second consecutive year. We were joined by friends from our church fellowship group, and of course, the guests of honor, Grandma and Grandpa.

We did a fair bit of hiking on some lovely redwood trails...

...and also a coast access down-hike that led to a beautiful rocky cove where dad very expertly built a 10-tier stone stack!!

Mom and dad did very well on the hikes...here's mom resting her feet.

Of course, we did lots of cooking on the campfire and my new propane stove...

We played in the river (the water was freezing) and generally had a good time.

This year, there were bugs, which made it a little less pleasant but fortunately, they didn't seem to bite. In fact, the watermelon tossing was more dangerous!

On top of the world - a view of the spectacular Big Sur coast.
